About
Woodrich is a workshop in Sofia that builds made-to-measure furniture. They wanted a site that shows the work and brings in enquiries, in Bulgarian and English, and that they could update themselves instead of calling me every time a kitchen goes in.
The gallery is the site
Most of a site like this settles down after launch: a hero, how they work, an about page, contact details. The part that changes every week is the photos, so that is where the work went.
Photos are grouped into projects. One kitchen shoot is one project: several photos, a heading, and a cover shot the workshop picks. Each project is filed under a room, and visitors filter by room.
The rooms are managed from the same panel. A room with nothing in it stays hidden, so a filter never leads to an empty page, and the panel shows the photo count so it is obvious why. Deleting a room is refused while projects still use it.
Uploads get checked on the way in. A file that claims to be a photo but is not gets turned away, phone photos are rotated the right way up and resized, and nobody downloads a 12-megapixel original to look at a thumbnail.
